These Portrait photos were taken at the entrance to Packington village, at the end of the first lap of the 9-mile loop in Leicestershire countryside. The first runner came through at 10:53 am, that’s 9-plus miles in 53 minutes.. less than 6 minutes a mile. Phew!
300 runners took part in the 10-mile trail race known as Brooksie’s Bash starting at 10 am on a dull sumer Sunday morning from Foremark in Derbyshire, England. A small number also took part in a 5km MiniBash at the same time. Later, the sun came out. Our main album was taken at the finish line with individual runner portraits for all but 6 of the 292 runners. Some 300 photos of finishers of the 10-mile Bash are posted on the Photochippy.com Facebook page here: Here’s one of them:
Journey’s end for this runner some 50 metres before the finish..
Also, photos of the pre-starts and of the two 10-mile starts are here on Facebook The first start was a “Gun-time” start, for the faster runners all to go together; ten minutes later, the main body made individual timed starts using the green Dibbing start sensors and transponders provided. SOme sense of the fun atmosphere may be gleaned from this albym, like this crowd below in their amazing fancy dress!
A Fun occasion.. a posed photo outside the Foremark main building with the small lake in the background.
Just 15 photos of the 5k MiniBash are on a separate Facebook album here:

This new event venue hosted a near-10k cross-country race with a couple of hundred runners starting at 11 am for the Leicestershire Road Runners League. The Alton Grange venue made for a two-lap route through the nearby QE Diamond Jubilee Wood, DJW, planted by the Woodland Trust in 2012 to celebrate the 60th year of the reign of HM Queen Elizabeth II. Since then the area has matured into a fine woodland leisure facility with a mature lake and birdlife.
The PhotoChippy cameras were at the South end of the route, adjacent to the lakeside. Two different cameras were used, one on each lap. Not all the runners were photographed due to handling issues, but a good selection of 477 portraits are to be found here on Facebook PhotoChippy.com
