Dead Tree – 21st April 2019

Out for a walk in Southern England during our amazing late-April summery weekend, I used a cell-phone to snap this startlingly posed tree:

  • Aperture: ƒ/1.8
  • Camera: iPhone 7
  • Focal length: 3.99mm
  • ISO: 20
  • Shutter speed: 1/2500s
Back home, in May 2019, the monochrome version below was given 20 out of 20 by renowned fine-art judge, Nathaniel Coalson ARPS. This was the top mark amongst 54 digital images, in the themed “Black and White” competition held by Ashby Camera Club ACC in their 4th Quarter 2018-19 event.
