LRRL 10km XC Race Sunday 19th February 2023 at Alton Grange

This new event venue hosted a near-10k cross-country race with a couple of hundred runners starting at 11 am for the Leicestershire Road Runners League. The Alton Grange venue made for a two-lap route through the nearby QE Diamond Jubilee Wood, DJW, planted by the Woodland Trust in 2012 to celebrate the 60th year of the reign of HM Queen Elizabeth II. Since then the area has matured into a fine woodland leisure facility with a mature lake and birdlife.

The PhotoChippy cameras were at the South end of the route, adjacent to the lakeside. Two different cameras were used, one on each lap. Not all the runners were photographed due to handling issues, but a good selection of 477 portraits are to be found here on Facebook
